Education
Together We Can: Learn
Education is a powerful tool by which individuals from all backgrounds can be empowered to pursue a productive, healthy and safe life. Currently, 98 million adolescent girls around the world are not in school.
With the belief that educated women can, and are needed to change the world, focus on women and girls education has been prioritized. Educated women are healthier, earn more income for their families, and are greater contributors to their community and country.
SDG 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all
Education enables upward socioeconomic mobility and is a key to escaping poverty. Education is also essential to achieving many other Sustainable Development Goals. When people are able to get quality education they can break from the cycle of poverty. Education helps to reduce inequalities and to reach gender equality. In fact, one extra year of education is associated with a reduction of the Gini coefficient by 1.4 percentage points. Education empowers people everywhere to live more healthy and sustainable lives.
